Sump Fence

The access fence to the sump behind Blackwell Ct looks to be wide open and actually broken for many years. The gate does have a sign on it that says "Danger Keep Out". A neighbor contacted me about the issue and the concern for children's safety so I submitted a complaint to the Brookaven Hwy Dept. If you know of any similar situations, visit the Brookhaven Highway Dept website and submit your complaint and be sure to include the "safety to children." Here is the wording I used if you need to submit something similar.

"Hello, I represent the Strathmore B-Section neighborhood association. It has been brought to my attention that there is a gate to a sump with a sign on it saying “Danger Keep Out, Town of Brookhaven Hwy Dept”. The gate clearly is wide open and broken for many years. The neighbors concern is the danger to children in the area, which is what the sign says. The access is via a short driveway within Blackwell Ct. It seems that a temporary fix was put up but it is only orange plastic fencing which looks to already be falling down. I believe in order to keep the area safe as once designed, it should have a new metal fence. Please advise me on the next steps to keep this area safe for our children. Thank you."
